Petre Babiceanu is the new General Manager of Zoomlion Europe

Petre Babiceanu is the new General Manager of Zoomlion Europe

Petre Babiceanu has been appointed by the board of Zoomlion Europe as manager for the development and coordination of the tower crane, mobile crane, forklift and aerial platform business.

On 19 April Petre Babiceanu joined Zoomlion Europe as the General Manager. Petre Babiceanu has 20 years of experience in the role of General Manager and holds a master's degree in civil engineering. His first post at Terra Holding was as Country Manager, when he was responsible for setting up the group's business in Romania. He later acted as South-East Regional Director and then as Group General Manager for Lifting Machinery, overseeing the development and distribution of various brands in the construction sector and starting a new lifting division.

His experience in the managerial field and in the sector led him to Zoomlion Europe, where he reports directly to the Board of Directors. As General Manager he is therefore responsible for the full development of the Forklift, AWP, Tower and Mobile Crane business lines, as well as for the operational coordination of the facility.

The arrival of the new GM is part of a development plan for the Zoomlion Europe company, founded in 2018 as a European hub for the production and distribution of Zoomlion branded product lines. This has been made possible with significant investment, considerable technical expertise, and the sales network of CIFA Spa, owned by the international group since 2008.

“The strategy of the Zoomlion group is to be present in a market of great potential for the lifting and logistics sectors such as the European one, with a local structure based in Italy. This is thanks to reliable, high-performance and mature products for Europe and the know-how and experience of CIFA,” commented Davide Cipolla, CEO of CIFA Spa and Zoomlion Europe. “After an initial phase of structuring the offer and product development, we are now also growing in organisational terms, which is why we have recently inaugurated a new factory which will employ 80 people when fully operational. It is clear, therefore, how important it is for an expanding company to have a General Manager who is dependable but also farsighted - as we believe Babiceanu to be - in order to achieve these challenging objectives."

The new General Manager Petre Babiceanu commented: “I am honoured to have been given this post and be part of a young and dynamic team, and I see the expansion of the company more in the European market as a fantastic opportunity. The timing is very favourable with the end of the Covid-19 crisis. The success of Zoomlion Europe is sealed with the support of a historic Italian company such as CIFA Spa which has always stood out for creativity and performance, and which belongs to a rapidly expanding group ranking among the top 5 in the world. We know the needs of European customers and expect to complete the portfolio of after-sales products and services with tailor-made financing solutions offered by the group's financial company - Zoomlion Capital."

The brand is new on the European market, but is backed by the great experience, knowledge and skillsets of a team highly versed in the dynamics and needs related to the sale and post-sale of products and of course their design. The result is a range of high-quality lifting solutions:
• Forklifts
• Aerial Work Platforms (AWP)
• Tower cranes
• Mobile cranes

Mobile cranes are a great novelty in the field as they are made entirely in Italy (designed and manufactured in Italy and made with the best European components) and mark a turning point in the sector where Italy is playing a role in production again after a long period of absence. The range consists of the ATC960 70-ton mobile crane with three axles and a 48-metre telematic boom; and the ATC1000 100-ton crane with 4 axles and a 55-metre telematic boom. The range of mobile cranes is accompanied by a complete range of rough-terrain cranes such as the ZRT600 60-ton crane with 45-metre boom, and the ZRT850 85-ton crane with 47-metre boom. The Flat-Top tower cranes with a maximum boom of 70 m and a capacity of 12/2 tons have a solid structure to ensure maximum reliability on site, also assembled in Italy. The aerial platforms are available in the versions with pantograph, telescopic boom and articulated boom. The structures are stable and suitable for the many disparate applications for which they are designed. The range of forklifts covers all types of machines for handling: electric front forklift trucks with 3 and 4 wheels and stackers - efficient and compact products, designed to work indoors - and more robust endothermic front forklifts, ideal for working outdoors.
